One of the best parts of welcoming fall weather is finally getting to pull out the comfy knits we’ve been waiting to wear! The fashion industry is always planning one step ahead, meaning fall starts rolling into the stores when most of us are still fighting 90+ degree weather! Thanks in part to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I’ve had sweaters stocked away since July that I cannot wait to wear! Today I’m sharing a few tips on how to start wearing your sweaters now!
- Shorts – Shorts and sweaters are one of my favorite fall combinations! They provide the perfect balance of warmth, and the easy/comfy style that comes with the season. Stick with a denim or darker fall color. I’m all for wearing white denim year round, but lets leave the pastel seersucker behind for now. Olive and burgundy are two of the easiest colors to incorporate, they’re practically neutrals!
- Accessories – Layers are a huge part of what makes fall fashion so much fun! Through the summer, we’re trying to get away with minimal fabric and rarely does the thought of a scarf or jacket sound fabulous. Hats are one of the first accessories I start to incorporate when the cooler temps roll around! They are a great way to add rich fabrics like wool or suede – not to mention they turn any day into a good hair day!
- Shoes – Take advantage of the beautiful closed toe shoes available right now like sneakers, flats, and booties! They provide extreme comfort and the perfect ‘off duty chic’ vibe to your shorts and sweater combo. It’s also a great opportunity to start breaking in your latest shoe purchase before you live in them every day!
It’s never too early to get reacquainted with your fall wardrobe! Start wearing your sweaters early on to get your mind working and decide what trends you’re going to add to your closet year! Everyone wants to get the most for their money, and the earlier you buy key pieces the more opportunity you’ll have to wear them!
Not sure what trend will compliment your personal style? Maybe you need help finding your go-to denim or a few classics? I’m filling up my calendar with fall shopping appointments to help clients with exactly that! For those of you not in Nashville, virtual consults are a great option and you don’t even have to leave your house! I’m always here to answer any questions : firstname.lastname@example.org
