Wrapping up the week and this little mini series with one last post including….leather leggings, the theme of the week! A great legging, when worn properly, is on my list of versatile pieces I truly believe in. Faux leather isn’t for everyone, but don’t knock it till you try it! The fabric variation adds a chic little touch to an otherwise casual outfit, yet can be dressed up without scarfing comfort! Aside from faux leather, a nice thick black legging is a great option! Beyond those, be weary.

The second post of this little mini series is all about a great blouse. By now you’ve probably noticed I love neutrals such as black, grey, and white. Give it to me in a classic silhouette I can wear year round and I’m in heaven! I love a good silk, but I know it turns some people off because of dry cleaning. There are other options that will help you achieve the same look and are machine wash friendly. I suggest keeping a nice balance. Having a closet full of silk sounds fabulous, but to keep your dry cleaning bill low, invest in a basic or two and a statement print from time to time.

It seems we all wear more black, and/or neutrals, in the winter yet our outfits never seem boring. For this, we can thank the many different textures and layers that come with cooler temps. Here, I’ve paired my leather leggings, (duh I told you I could live in these) with a simple black silk blouse, thrown on a yummy blanket scarf for warmth, and to give more dimension to my outfit. There are so many ways you could add personal details to “the base” I have here. Add a pop with your favorite shoes, add a sassy blazer, fun pom pom hat, or even a statement coat. Whatever you choose, let your style shine while keeping it classy!

My “big girl wardrobe” is almost complete, and there are just a few pieces left to get rid of that should have stayed in college. Through the process, I’ve learned how a feminine blouse will truly take you from work to play no matter what your style or age. Below is another example of how I’ve styled this blouse in the past with a flirty little skirt. Clearly warmer weather helps with the skirt, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pair with a pair of tights or over the knee boots. A tasteful skirt length isn’t only for the office ladies.

Hi all!

Please excuse my absence over the past couple of weeks. Between the holidays, travel, my birthday, and a VERY exciting project in the works, blog posts got put on the back burner. It’s back to real life and I am so excited to share with you all about the outfits you have been seeing on my Instagram and Facebook. This week all of my posts will have one piece in common…let’s see if you can pick it out!
